Our Beliefs

Based upon our study of the Old and New Testament Scriptures we have come to hold to the following core beliefs:

  • Life is ultimately about loving, connected relationships because the Creator of all things is Himself a relational Being - i.e. He exists eternally as a loving, connected Trinity:  Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • Loving, connected relationship with God and others is the deepest longing of the human heart.  Such relationships alone give the lasting satisfaction and meaning to life that we all desire.
  • Gender is a sacred trust.  God created men and women to reflect Him equally but differently in this world.  Men are uniquely designed to reflect God's strength and movement which creates life, while women are uniquely designed to reflect God's beauty and grace which enhances life.  Thus, God intends a man and woman - united together in marriage - to be a full-reflection of Him, the very God who blesses the world with life.
  • We foolishly think we can find life on our own.  Such thinking is "foolish" because God has designed life to be found in relational connection with Him alone - the Source of all Life.  For this reason, we believe that seeking for life independent of God will be at the root of all our personal problems and frustrations.  It is the reason for all human disconnection, misery, and death.
  • Jesus Christ came into the world to restore life-giving connection with God that is ruptured by our "foolish thinking" (that we can find life apart from God).  He did this by His sacrificial death that God says alone pays the penalty that our foolish thinking requires which is judgment and eternal separation from God.
  • Our ruptured connection with God is repaired through faith alone in the gracious payment Jesus made on our behalf.  It is not repaired by anything we earn or accomplish through our performance or behavior.
  • When ruptured-connection with God is repaired then a man's masculinity and a woman's femininity can begin to properly reflect the God it was designed to reflect.  It is through God's restorative process in Christ that men and women can begin to joyfully realize their design of bringing life and beauty to this world.
